● 课程背景Background

国际交往日益频繁及全球化进程的不断深化使得英语越来越成为一个人不可缺少的交流工具。原本封闭、传统的法律部门也不可避免要和世界各国同行合作、竞争、交流和相互学习。英语、尤其是法律英语不仅是法律专业人士在国际舞台上展示风采、质素和综合修养的靓丽名片，而且是法律专业人士职位升迁、业务拓展和增加服务附加值的利器。

The more and more frequent international exchange and the further deepening of the

globalization have made English a necessity for everybody.The professionals in legal

department which was originally closed and traditional have to cooperate,

compete and learn from each other with counterparts from other countries of the world.

English especially legal English has become not only the beautiful cards for the legal

professionals to show their elegancies, dispositions and comprehensible accomplishment

at international stages,but also the edge-sharping advantage for the legal professionals’

promotion, business expansion and value-added services.



如果一个律师有一口流利、地道的英语，其收费可能要远大于一个只会讲中文的普通律师 再加上一个高级翻译。 一封中文律师函一般收费 1000元。翻译1000字的价格是200元，而一封英语律师函可能高达10000元。

If a lawyer could speak pure and excellent English, he would probably be able to

charge much higher price than a lawyer who can only speak Chinese together with a high

caliber translator.A common letter of lawyer’s opinion normally charge 1000 yuan RMB

and a translator 200 yuan RMB for 1000 characters’ translation while a letter of lawyer’s

opinion in English may charge as high as 10000 yuan RMB.

A contract between a Chinese company and an English one had been translated by

a well-known translation company. The contract was obviously drafted by a very professional

and experienced lawyer. So it’s very complicated and difficult to be translated.

We will study the original and the translation from which we will learn the essence

of translation.

翻译范本为一家英国公司和中国公司签订的合同并已由一家知名翻译公司翻译。合同显然出自一专家高手，很复杂且不易翻译。通过分析本翻译稿进行法律英语翻译学习。
